Sometimes in a dark-blue night,
mild and magical
Sometimes when the moonlight
reflects in the sea
Sometimes on a green meadow
when I smell the spring air
Sometimes when sunlited snowflakes
sparkle in your hair
Sometimes I see laughing kids
and sense how precious life is
and one of my deepest fears
flutters through my head
One of those madmen
takes our fate in his hand
gives the world the coup de grace
by pressing the button
A second sun explodes
and man-made hellfire
burns away all hopes and dreams
in a few seconds
It’s the same nightmare
for years and years
and every new dawn
comforts my soul
